Last week's taste of winter weather is now behind us, and in the next few days temperatures will stay to relatively high values, above normal. Even the unusually mild phase, however, will not last long, because between Friday 29 and Saturday 30 of November it is likely that a new cold snap will break into Italy from the east and it will cause a new drop in temperatures and the return of a winter-like cold in much of Italy. A temperature drop that will probably also be accompanied by bad weather, with rain in many regions of Central e Sothern Italy and snow falling on Appennines Mountains.
WEATHER ANIMATION: RAIN, TEMPERATURES AND SNOW IN THE NEXT DAYS
So soon we will experience another taste of winter, probably characterized by some snowfall. But the real surprise could arrive next week, and it's really... cold news! In fact, based on the long range forecast by atmospheric models, it is possible that around 7-8 of December icy currents will break out on Italy: an outbreak of very cold air that will cause temperatures to drop to winter values and snow to fall at very low levels. Clearly this is only a long-term projection, but at the moment it still appears to be a credible scenario.
